Temptations Within and Without: A Lenten Reflection (9th March 2025 Sermon)

The Holy Spirit did not lead Jesus into the temptations but led Him through them. The temptations Jesus faced helped Him to discern what kind of Messiah He would be, and that He was not to use any supernatural powers to win people to Him, but to accomplish the work given by His Father. In the present context, temptations come into our lives in two ways: from others, and from within ourselves. Lent is a time to stand with God and to reject Satan, as Lord Jesus did in all temptations.
