Beyond the Fox’s Reach: Finding Refuge in Jesus (16th March 2025 Sermon)

Beyond the Fox's Reach: Finding Refuge in Jesus

Today's Sermon is from Luke 13:31-35

Not all Pharisees were hostile to Jesus; some admired and had great respect for Him. Lord Jesus’ answer to the Pharisees who wanted Him to go away from King Herod was, “Go tell that fox…” Here, “fox” symbolizes that King Herod was a cunning person like a fox, a destructive person like a fox, and a worthless and insignificant person like a fox. Jesus’ journey to Jerusalem this time was to show His love to the people in Jerusalem and save them, but He was rejected. He pictured Himself as a hen gathering her chicks under her wings, so that everyone who goes under the wings of Jesus will be saved. Lent is a time calling us to run under the Lord’s wings as we face temptations and challenges that can be destructive.
