Wind and Fire: The Coming of the Holy Spirit (8th June 2025 Sermon)

Pentecost brings the end of the Easter Season. It was the birthday of the Church and the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the disciples. The wind represents the Spirit of God, or the Living Breath. The fire represents the divine presence of God. It is a call for all believers to empower themselves with the power of this fire to face and overcome all the challenges and temptations in the world, just as the disciples did in the first Christian community. The work of the Holy Spirit is to sacralise the whole world, not to secularise it.
