The King's Humble Entry: Palm Sunday and the Path to Victory

Today's Sermon is from Luke 19:28-40

Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week, also known as Passion Week. Three key words associated with Palm Sunday highlight Jesus as the Messiah, the Anointed King: “Palms,” “Donkey,” and “Hosanna.” ‘Palms’ are a symbol of victory, representing the presence of Jesus, the Victorious King. The “Donkey,” a humble animal, symbolizes the peaceful arrival of Jesus amidst a people’s movement. “Hosanna,” meaning ‘Save, we beg you, Lord,’ is both an expression of praise and a welcome to Jesus as the Messiah who established the Messianic Kingdom, triumphing over sin and death.
