Costly Devotion: A Path to Sanctification (6th April 2025 Sermon)

Our acts of devotion should make Jesus happy and bring Him gladness. We should also not forget that devotion is often costly and risky. Mary anointed Jesus’ feet in public, surpassing social traditions. She wanted to receive His blessing by falling at His feet. Judas criticized her act because he loved money; although he could calculate the value of the perfume, which was a year’s wages, he failed to appreciate the love and blessing of Jesus. Lent is a time to consider what costly acts of devotion we can offer to honor Jesus and receive His blessings.
