Giving All to God: The Ultimate Act of Surrender (10th November 2024 Sermon)

Giving All to God: The Ultimate Act of Surrender

Today's Sermon is from Mark 12:38-44

All things come from You, O God, and of Your own do we give unto You.

We are called to give all to God because all belongs to God. All good things come from God. What we have is given by God.

Give with Love: Because God loves us, God gives everything to us. If we give a gift to someone, we do it because we love that person. This is a way of showing our love and expressing our gratitude.

Give with Joy: 2 Corinthians 9:7 says God loves a cheerful giver. We are called to give not with a sad, upset, or worried heart, but with a cheerful heart.

In Mark 12:43-44, Jesus says the poor widow put in more than the others; everything she had, she gave. And now she depends on the hands of God, because that’s the ultimate reality of human life. We don’t have any other joy, comfort, and satisfaction than when we depend on the hands of God. It’s like an infant in the arms or the lap of a mother.

There’s a saying: “Everyone gives something, but some give everything.”
